The Mayan ruins of Copán are beautiful and unique among Mayan cities. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980, Copán contains some of the most important Mayan ruins found to date, and many unusual artistic features, including some of the most detailed carving in the Mayan world.

'Pupusas' You may have heard of them and once you taste them you will never forget them. Try your hand at making these delicious corn flour tortillas with your favourite fillings, paired with the local drinks, horchata, cerveza / beer or some local rum.
Suchitoto is a town set in the mountains of El Salvador’s Cuscatlán department. Its colonial architecture is highlighted by the mid-1800s Santa Lucia Church, with a wooden altar and beams, that sits on Parque Central. The town overlooks Lago Suchitlán, a large man-made lake with boats and migratory birds. The Centro Arte para la Paz houses a museum, gallery and gardens in a former convent.
Enjoy a day in Suchitoto, hike the forest, learn to dye clothes the traditional way, bird watch and try your hand at fishing.

Take a walk just outside the town of La Fortuna to the nearby waterfall. Once at the gate, descend the trail through lush rainforest of more than 500 steps to get to the base of the falls. The water cascades 65m (200 ft) down the side of the dormant Cerro Chato. Sit peacefully on the rocks and then plunge into the fresh waters.
